A shot in the dark
I say goodbye to my girlfriend, turn around, and walk down the stairs of the arena; halfway down, I freeze. Do I dare ask the choreographer, the very owner of the dance studio, if I could shoot some stills of the dance show? After all, I wasn't really doing anything else this particular Saturday. And so I turn around and go looking for the one and only Wendla Karlsson!

The question.
And so, after a few more minutes of contemplation, I go and present myself. After a reasonably awkward introduction where I have to explain to Wendla that my girlfriend is one of her dance pupils, Wendla's face lights up! "Of course," she says. "I can't offer you any payment, but take this vest so they let you in, and take as many photos as you like."
And so, with a new mission for the day, I head home and pack my bag.

The woman, the myth, the legend.
Wendla Karlsson,

also known as "madame terror", is the 78 year old mastermind behind Wendlas dansstudio.
Since 1983 she has meticulously been coaching (or should I say crafting) dancers of all ages and skill levels at her studio; and has during this time earned herself a world reputation for her choreographies and attention for detail.
The "vårshow" is the annual show held by the studio to show off all the hard work put down by Wendla, her fellow coaches & pupils.
It's a big event for all involved, and since this was my first year attending, I must say that I really didn't grasp the scale of it until the end of the show when hundreds of people poured out on to the arena floor!
