This evening's...

...mission was to capture the atmosphere that filled the old wooden chapel in Vallbo during a very close up and personal concert with John de Hosson and Per Wiklander.

Outside...

...it was just as cold, wet and grey as it gets in this part of Sweden in May. As a matter of fact, the weather was so bad that I couldn’t fly the drone. However, the two experienced musicians made the historical chapel feel as warm and welcoming as ever.

You couldn’t have wished for a better setting for these two talented performers. A beautiful and simple wooden building from the 1800s. Situated up on a small hill, in a beautiful mountain region, out in Jämtlands countryside.

The audience...

...was presented with an unexpected mixture of tunes ranging from Vivaldi to Waltzing Matilda and local folk music.

“Every person in the audience cried”, was John’s and Per’s somewhat surprised reaction afterwards. Of course we did! We were served melancholic melodies in their right environment. It was nearly impossible not to cry.

And a couple of times it was tears of laughter since the relaxed and very naked/ intimate performance gave room for jokes, sometimes in the middle of the music, sometimes just as a gaze between the two talents on stage.

The 44 people that got themselves out of the house this miserable Tuesday night sure got an experience that made it worthwhile. This was one of a kind!

Until next time Vallbo!
